Avery Smith, an insurance executive with nearly two decades of experience in dental sales, is the President of Kelsey National Corporation (KNC), which runs DentalInsurance.com. Mr. Smith was also a key contributor in the design and launch of YourDentalExchange. YourDentalExchange is an online insurance marketplace for seniors looking to replace group dental and vision coverage previously provided by an employer with individually-purchased coverage. A particular advantage of this replacement model is the lack of waiting periods before the benefits can be used. Waiting periods delay an enrollee's access to one or more benefits and are a point of consumer frustration.
In the past few years, Mr. Smith has spoken twice at the annual conferences of the National Association of Dental Plans and has been instrumental in DentalInsurance.com joining this association. In 2014, Avery Smith explained, "Through NADP membership, DentalInsurance.com will meet and network with top dental insurance carriers to enhance our current dental insurance exchange." Moreover, even though DentalInsurance.com pioneered the online marketplace for dental plans, Avery is invested in keeping the site at the vanguard of industry developments.
Mr. Smith currently sits on the Board of Directors for PIMA, the Professional Insurance Marketing Association. He has also spoken at many conferences, addressing topics such as marketing tactics as they relate to the consumer purchase journey for dental health benefits.
A proud alum of the University of California, Irvine, and a member of Young Presidents Association, Avery has a proven track record of building new partnerships. In addition, he has devoted many hours to volunteer work such as helping New Orleans rebuild after Hurricane Katrina.
