Premium

A premium is the charge for dental coverage. This charge is normally paid monthly. The amount of the premium is determined by the insurance company providing the dental plan and is paid by the person enrolled in the dental plan. Failure to pay the monthly premium results in the discontinuation of dental coverage for the plan enrollee.

Monthly premiums are stable for the term of coverage, which is typically one year. At the end of the term of coverage, the dental plan policy may be renewed but the monthly premium may be different for this new term of coverage.
